High Tourism Growth Drives Demand for Premium Products
Food & Hotel Thailand (FHT) 2017 – celebrates its 25th edition as Thailand’s leading premium international trade event for Thailand and the regions expanding food and hospitality industry. Taking place 6th to 9th September 2017 at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand.
Tourism is a key driver of economic growth accounting for approx. 10% of Thailand’s GDP. The Tourism and Sports Ministry projects tourism revenues will increase in 2017 to 2.71 trillion baht, up 8.17% from the 2.5 trillion baht achieved in 2016.
In 2017 revenues of 1.78 trillion are expected from foreign tourists, up 8.5% from 2016. And 930 billion are expected from domestic tourists, up 7.5% from 2016.
The total number of international tourists to Thailand is expected to reach 35 million in 2017, increasing from 32.5 million in 2016.
